Job summary

Novel Engineering Inc in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Technical Drafter for a contract role to support engineers with CAD drafting. You will create and edit mechanical, electrical and control drawings using SolidWorks, and assemble parts lists and BOMs for projects.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree or 5+ years of CAD experience, strong knowledge of ASME drawing standards, and proficiency in Excel/MS Office. This is an on-site 1099 contract at $35/hour, with a short-term horizon.

Qualifications

Associate degree in computer-aided drafting or 5+ years' equivalent experience.
Proficient in CAD techniques, ASME standards, creating assemblies, exploded views, and BOMs.
Must be able to create 2D drawings and drawing views.

Responsibilities

Create and edit mechanical, assembly, electrical and/or control drawings to meet specifications utilizing SolidWorks.
Review drawings to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
Assist engineer with parts lists, cost estimating, and plans & specifications development.
Follow customer processes and procedures.
Initiate follow-up to update documentation when any changes may occur.
Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
