Job summary

Flambeau, Inc. in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Project Engineer to serve as the liaison between the customer and internal departments, ensuring cost, quality, delivery, and service targets are met. You will guide programs for Design, Development, APQP, and overall program success.

This is a temporary position of about 1.5 years. Responsibilities include sourcing information for proposals, managing tooling and fixtures, updating engineering prints, providing status reports, and supporting

Qualifications

• Experience in Engineering Project Management preferred.
• Experience in Plastic Processing and Manufacturing preferred.
• Experience in Automotive Industry required.
• Ability to read prints and support QE with layouts and GD&T understanding.

Responsibilities

• Obtain information from appropriate teams to provide the optimum proposal to the customer.
• Place all new tooling & fixture builds and manage all mechanical design functions and tooling program management.
• Oversee updating of engineering print files and revisions to engineering prints to reduce variances.
• Manage all programs assigned and provide status reports on activities.
• Propose annual continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
• Interact with manufacturing personnel to establish standard processes and support production.
• Establish quality plans for each part (FMEAs, Control Plans, Work Instructions, PPAPs) and lead cross-functional teams.
• Strive to maintain education on tooling, machinery, materials, and processing.
• Travel to customer and vendor locations or other Flambeau facilities.
• Use CAD software for viewing/analyzing part designs for manufacturability.
