Job summary

Defense Logistics Agency invites applications for an Attorney-Adviser (Contract) in the DLA General Counsel Headquarters. The role supports procurement and contract administration for specialized services and materials across federal agencies.

Duties include advising on all contract stages, bid protests, and litigation strategies. The position requires a law degree and active bar membership, with 2–3+ years of relevant federal acquisition experience.

Qualifications

• First professional law degree (LLB or J.D.).
• Licensed and in good standing with the bar of the highest court in a State/DC or territory. Bar status must be current.
• Legal experience in excess of 2–3 years for the grades advertised, commensurate with duties.

Responsibilities

• Advise DCSO contracting officers and Agency personnel on procurements at all acquisition stages.
• Provide guidance on contract formation, acquisition planning, evaluation, source selection, and award documents.
• Advise on bid protests before GAO and related litigation at ASBCA and Court of Federal Claims.
• Serve as Agency attorney of record for bid protests and for appeals before ASBCA.
• Advise on contract administration matters including modifications, disputes, and termination actions.
• Collaborate with HQ DLA Acquisition Law Division and other offices on acquisition matters and litigation.
