Job summary

Evonik Corporation in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Contract and Claims Manager to lead major procurement programs and oversee contract administration on large EPC/EPCM projects. You will identify requirements, draft specifications, and manage SLAs while coordinating with multiple functions to optimize cost, risk, and schedule.

The role requires a Masters degree and 5–10 years of relevant experience, with strong negotiation, budgeting, and IT tool proficiency.

Qualifications

  • University/Postgraduate degree in engineering or business administration.
  • 5–10 years of experience in construction contract administration or managing commercial relationships on large EPC/EPCM projects.
  • Experience drafting/reviewing contract documents; change orders and claims negotiation.
  • Proven project management skills and knowledge of relevant IT tools.
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders; willingness to travel 20–30%.
  • Experience in procurement phase, evaluating RFPs and risk assessment support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of major procurement programs in line with overall procurement strategy.
  • Identify contract requirements and write specifications for a medium portfolio or area of the business for existing contracts and/or new contracts.
  • Manage a portfolio of contracts and negotiate service level agreements; plan, coordinate and supervise activities relating to major contracts.
  • Manage a category plan/program to realize cost savings, risk reduction, and synergy improvements.
  • Collect and analyze key cost drivers, market dynamics, and suppliers for high-risk areas to support decision making.
  • Develop and/or deliver budget plans with guidance from senior colleagues.
