Contract Administrator Associate - National Remote

This role involves coordinating and administering Optum/UHG contracts, supporting Contract Management teams, Value Analysis, and key leaders. Collaborate with contract managers and internal units to ensure contract compliance, profitability, and provide education to Care Delivery Organizations. Work with Procure to Pay teams to ensure correct pricing and contract adherence.

This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, with an 8-hour shift during our normal business hours (8:00 am - 5:00 pm). We offer on-the-job training, with hours aligned to your schedule. Enjoy the flexibility of telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. as you tackle challenging tasks.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage member grievances, attestations, credit and rebill requests, rebate appeals to maximize contract profitability and compliance.
  • Implement contracts/programs based on agreed services/products with Contracting and Operations teams.
  • Oversee contract implementation and ensure pricing alignment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including vendors and third-party organizations.
  • Identify and resolve issues during contract implementation, working with stakeholders.
  • Support client relationships through meetings, issue escalation, invoicing, and opportunities.
  • Maintain contracting repositories and ensure correct contract adherence and pricing within Optum Item Master.
  • Measure vendor performance against contract terms.
  • Facilitate reporting for the contracting team using existing tools, collaborating with internal and external teams.
  • Communicate contract performance, successes, and areas for improvement to Optum leaders.
  • Recommend and assist in process improvement initiatives for the Value Analysis team.
  • Coordinate with Item and Data Management teams to ensure item pricing accuracy.
  • Utilize healthcare industry knowledge to educate and support Care Delivery Organization teams on pricing and contract adherence.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the healthcare industry.
  • At least 2 years in payor or account management roles within healthcare.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Med Surg/Vaccine/Pharmaceutical contracts.
  • Understanding of GPO, Direct, and Local Contract agreements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong presentation, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions for complex problems.
  • Flexibility with organizational priorities.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10%.
  • Ability to work between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Procure to Pay applications like Premier connect, Coupa, etc.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft.
  • Experience in healthcare supply chain management.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Experience leading change initiatives.

The hourly range is $23.70 to $46.35, based on various factors including experience and location. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentives, stock purchase options, and 401k contributions.
