A leading healthcare institution in California seeks a Contract Administrator to manage clinical trial agreements and provide guidance to faculty and staff. The role requires excellent negotiation skills, a bachelor’s degree, and experience in contract analysis. This position offers a salary range of $75,000 - $135,600 and the option for remote work.
This position is within the UC Davis Health (UCDH) Health Contracts (HC) Office, primarily under the Clinical Trials unit of the HC Office. The incumbent works independently with decision-making responsibility under the general supervision of the UCDH Contracts Manager. Responsibilities include assisting faculty and administrative units to develop proposals for clinical trial contracts, negotiating and managing low to moderately complex clinical trial agreements, and handling a wide range of contracting tasks for clinical trials, government grant program services, and other health affairs activities as needed. The incumbent negotiates, drafts, and administers contracts in compliance with federal/state law and University policy and monitors changes in law or policy to ensure ongoing compliance. The incumbent also provides information and training to UCDH staff on contract preparation, negotiation, and administration.

Clinical Trial Contract and Budget Reviews (80%)
Negotiate and draft master clinical trial agreements, template agreements, subagreements, confidentiality agreements, amendments, and other related documents for assigned protocols; perform due diligence during negotiations; ensure terms comply with federal/state law, municipal code, and University policy; obtain approvals from UCDH Contracts signatories; serve as a liaison among faculty, staff, and external entities to resolve contract issues and guide budget development.
Outreach and Training (10%)
Communicate policy/procedure changes; develop and present workshops for UCDH and campus; represent the office at meetings and conferences.
Policy/Procedure Development, Review, Implementation (5%)
Develop and maintain a database on federal, state, and municipal law/policy related to contracts; interpret policy changes with UCOP and related offices; draft and review applicable policies
Business Contracting - Health Affairs Contracts (5%)
Negotiate professional, medical, hospital, and program service agreements; draft and modify contracts; ensure compliance; act as liaison and assist in post-agreement administration; back up other contract analysts as needed.
