General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is seeking a contracts administrator to support one or more business units in contract management.

You will review proposals, negotiate terms, and ensure timely contract award and fulfillment in accordance with company policy. The role requires knowledge of contract principles, FAR/DFARs familiarity, and the ability to interact with customers while maintaining records and monitoring regulatory changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration with contract administration emphasis and 3+ years of experience.
  • Knowledge of contract principles and FAR/DFARs; IDIQ contracts preferred.
  • Customer-focused with strong written and verbal communication and problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews proposals to ensure they meet company policy and customer solicitation requirements.
  • Identifies contract issues and provides leadership in developing solutions.
  • Negotiates and modifies standard contracts and assists in negotiating non-standard contracts/subcontracts.
  • Advises management of rights and obligations and explains terms and conditions.
  • Maintains awareness of regulatory changes and export considerations.
  • Maintains, analyzes, updates, and develops records.
  • Supports internal presentations and serves as a point of contact with customers and organizations.
  • Drafts and sends contract letters to customers in a timely manner.
  • Observes laws, regulations and company obligations; works safely.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Job Summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for supporting one or more business units in the management of contracts. Areas of responsibility include proposal review, contract preparation, negotiation, and administration, verifying export classification and foreign restrictions, and customer interface to provide for contract award and fulfillment in accordance with company policy. Reviews, interprets, recommends, and negotiates contractual terms and conditions and interprets established policies, procedures, and standard practices to develop proactive plans to ensure contract activities achieve desired objectives and timetables. Represents the organization as the primary administrative contact on assigned contracts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reviews proposals to ensure they meet company policy and customer solicitation requirements.
  • Identifies contract issues and provides leadership in developing solutions.
  • Participates in negotiating and modifying standard contracts and assists in negotiating and modifying non-standard contracts/subcontracts.
  • Advises management of contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions and other applicable contractual variables.
  • Maintains an awareness of regulatory changes and their impact on contracts/subcontracts, including export considerations.
  • Maintains, analyzes, updates, and develops various electronic and hard copy records.
  • Conducts and/or supports internal presentations and serves as a point of contact with internal/external customers and outside organizations.
  • Collaborates with and provides direction to proposal staff in other GA-ASI organizations.
  • Drafts and sends contract letters to customers in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Additional functions and other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis on contract administration or a related discipline, along with three or more years of progressive professional experience in acquisition. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must have a general knowledge of contract principles, theories and concepts and a general understanding of practices, techniques, and standards.
  • Familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Acquisition Regulations (DFARs), and Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts and ceilings are preferred,
  • Must be customer focused and possess:
    • the ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity;
    • excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to accurately document and report findings to a variety of audiences;
    • excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees, managers, customers and other external parties;
    • excellent time management skills to meet the required internal and external timelines; and,
    • excellent computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of SAP is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.

Job Type: Full-Time Salary

Salary range: 62,510 - 105,628
