Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Contract Administrator to support the Multidomain Sensing, Targeting and Survivability division in Amherst, NY. Hybrid location preferred in Buffalo, NY with possible staffing in Rolling Meadows, IL.

You will manage development, production, and sustainment contracts, handling communications, proposal support, and contractual baseline management to drive favorable program performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred or 6 years of equivalent experience.
  • Experience with FAR/DFARS and contract negotiation is preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance required.
  • Experience using SAP is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, extend, negotiate, and terminate standard and nonstandard contracts.
  • Coordinate with teams to lead internal proposal approval and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Advise program teams on contractual rights and obligations and interpret terms.
  • Maintain contract documents and program records, including correspondence.
  • Monitor contract requirements and funding to ensure proper delivery and compliance.
  • Support new business proposals and ROMs, including competitive and sole-source.
  • Maintain a healthy relationship with internal and external customers.

Position Summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Contract Administrator to support the Multidomain Sensing, Targeting and Survivability (MSTS) Division, Amherst Systems Operating Unit (OU). The preferred hybrid location is Buffalo, NY, but the position may also be staffed at Rolling Meadows, IL.

What You’ll Get to Do

The position will report directly to the Manager of Contracts and serve as the primary contact with our customer, administering a mix of development, production, and sustainment contracts for internal and external customers. You will be responsible for all formal contract communications and sustaining the contractual baseline to ensure favorable programmatic and financial performance. In addition to established development, production, and support efforts, you will support new business proposals and ROMs, both competitive and sole‑source.

Responsibilities
  • Administer, extend, negotiate, and terminate standard and nonstandard contracts.
  • Conduct proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer communications to ensure proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Coordinate with functional teams and management to lead the internal proposal approval process.
  • Advise program teams of contractual rights and obligations, including interpretation of contract terms and conditions.
  • Maintain and update contract documents and official program records, including contractual documents and correspondence.
  • Monitor contract requirements and associated program funding and deliverables to ensure that contractual obligations are communicated, understood, and followed.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and government regulations.
  • Administer, negotiate, and conduct closeout of contracts.
  • Maintain an open and healthy relationship with internal and external customers.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years of experience in Contracts Management/Administration or a related field (e.g., contracts‑related legal, pricing, business management, etc.).
  • Master’s Degree plus 1 year of experience in Contracts Management/Administration or a related field.
  • Will consider 6 years of applied experience in lieu of a degree requirement.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using FAR/DFARS.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Experience with Contract Negotiation.
  • Experience working with NDAs.
  • Current/active U.S. Government Secret clearance.

Salary & Compensation

Primary Level Salary Range: $69,000.00 – $103,400.00. This range is a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions when determining a base salary. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and, for VP or Director positions, long‑term incentives.
