Job summary

ITAC Solutions, LLC is actively seeking a Contract Accountant to support a growing project load for an advisory client. The role favors remote work with an onsite Birmingham, AL option, offering about 40 hours per week over the next 1–2 months and flexible scheduling.

The successful candidate will have 2–4 years in public accounting or internal audit, a Bachelor's in Accounting, and strong Excel skills. CPA is preferred, with exposure to forensic, litigation, bankruptcy, and M&A engagements.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of recent public accounting or publicly traded internal audit experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Advanced Excel
• Strong accounting fundamentals across GAAP, financial analysis, and financial statement review
• Critical thinking and sound judgment
• Ability to work independently
• Tech-savvy and comfortable with large datasets
• CPA highly preferred
• Forensic, litigation support, valuation, M&A due diligence, bankruptcy, expert witness support, or PowerBI experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide Staff/Senior-level support across forensic, litigation, and transaction advisory engagements
• Assist with M&A and transaction due diligence projects
• Review financial statements and perform financial analysis
• Work with large datasets to identify issues
• Contribute substantively alongside senior practitioners and legal counsel

Our client, an advisory firm providing forensic accounting, litigation support, and transaction advisory services, is seeking a Contract Accountant to support a growing project load.

This is an immediate need with approximately 40 hours/week of work over the next 1–2 months. Hours and timeline are flexible. Remote work is preferred, and onsite work in Birmingham, AL is available.

This role is a strong fit for someone with 2–4 years of public accounting or internal audit experience who wants exposure to forensic, litigation, and M&A work. Forensic experience is a plus but not expected at this level.
