Job summary

Ascendo Resources is seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Accountant on a contract basis to support day-to-day corporate accounting functions, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities while partnering with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and at least 3+ years of corporate accounting experience, with strong GAAP knowledge, Excel skills, and ERP system

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger accounting and reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile bank, balance sheet, and other general ledger accounts.
• Assist with financial reporting and analysis.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions as needed.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records.
• Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial information.
• Perform additional accounting duties and special projects as assigned.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to join our accounting team on a contract basis. This position will support day-to-day corporate accounting functions, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities while partnering with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional looking to join a growing organization. While there is potential for the position to transition to a permanent role based on performance, business needs, and overall fit, permanent placement is not guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger accounting and account reconciliations
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience with an ERP/accounting system required
