Job Responsibilities
- FACILITATE the necessary changes to achieve process improvements. Challenge old ways of doing business and act as a change agent. Drive projects to deliver significant operational improvement and financial benefit in aviation maintenance, overhaul, and repair operations. Partner with Process Owners and Champions to drive results.
- DATA ANALYSIS and INTERPRETATION: Improve measurement processes, perform analysis using appropriate tools, interpret results critically, and make actionable recommendations. Establish metrics at program and headquarters levels. Implement and verify recommendations, monitor performance, and develop control plans. Promote a culture of change and develop measurement systems analysis (MSA).
- UTILIZATION OF LEAN / 6 SIGMA TOOLS: Apply tools to reduce waste, perform value stream mapping, identify wastes, implement 6S, policy deployment, and standardized work. Use DMAIC methodology for problem-solving and develop visual aids to prevent errors.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred
- Lean certification preferred
- 6 Sigma certification (yellow, green, or black belt) preferred
- Experience in waste reduction or quality management initiatives
- Willingness to travel (CONUS or OCONUS)
- Leadership skills to facilitate cross-functional teams
- At least 3 years in aviation contracts, continuous improvement, operations, or quality
- Ability to influence peers and managers
- Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
- Experience in writing/updating policies & procedures
- Proficiency in Windows, Minitab, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and simulation software
Physical Demands
Extensive interaction with personnel in hangar, flight line, backshop, warehouses. Physical activities include standing, bending, stooping, pushing, kneeling, reaching, walking, climbing stairs. May lift objects up to 25 pounds.
