Job summary

Clayton is seeking a Lean/Continuous Improvement support role to champion production environment improvements. You will manage the communication center program for the facility and provide process support for team member experience opportunities.

Serve as the Lean expert to drive efficiency, implement Lean tools, and coordinate training. Responsibilities include collecting data for daily slideshows and safety metrics, building spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations, and hosting daily tailgate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, 1-2 years’ prior experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data for daily slideshows - overtime reports, OSHA records, QA audits, turnover, hire anniversaries, birthdays, safety and housekeeping scores.
  • Transfer data into spreadsheets to track history and identify areas of improvement.
  • Create spreadsheets and graphs and link to slideshows for daily sharing with production team.
  • Create PowerPoint slideshows for daily use, including safety and plant news.
  • Download updated slideshows to flash drives and update TVs for morning tailgates.
  • Collect Safety, Quality, Housekeeping and Connection data for weekly evaluations.
  • Identify Lean projects with Plant Manager and coordinate with fabricator to expedite.
  • Interact with Production Managers and Area Managers to prioritize and execute Lean plans.
  • Coach team members to work safely and wear PPE.
  • Collaborate daily to resolve Lean issues and communicate opportunities.
  • Lead by example, engage team, and support learning and growth.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new hires.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

Champion the continuous improvement of the production work environment and all facility production processes. Manage the entire communication center program for the facility. Provide process support as requested for opportunities which fall under team member experience umbrella. Serve as the Lean expert as needed to continuously improve production and process efficiencies, implement lean tools, and coordinate training programs as needed to support all the above.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Collect data for daily slideshows - overtime reports, OSHA recordable information, Quality Assurance audits, Turnover information, hire date anniversaries, birthdays, weekly safety walk scores, weekly housekeeping scores.
  • Transfer data into spreadsheets to track history and identify areas of improvement.
  • Create spreadsheets and graphs to evaluate data in an easy-to-understand format; link this information to the slideshows so it can be shared with the production team daily.
  • Create PowerPoint slideshows for use daily - this will include inspirational slides, safety slides, daily tailgate info and any plant news.
  • Download updated slideshows onto flash drives every afternoon then plug them into all the TVs - ensuring they are ready for the morning tailgate meetings.
  • Collect Safety, Quality, Housekeeping and Connection data and transfer to Area Manager weekly evaluations and other paperwork by Friday at noon.
  • Work with Plant Manager of facility to identify Lean projects then work with facility fabricator, if needed, to expedite applications.
  • Interact with the Production Managers and Area Mangers within plant to identify Lean projects then prioritize and execute a game plan to implement.
  • Coach all team members if you see any unsafe acts, make sure team members are working in a safe manner and are wearing their PPE. (bump caps, ear plugs, safety glasses, fall protection, saw safety, cut resistant gloves).
  • Work together each day to resolve Lean issues. Work opportunities back to the source to streamline them. Communicate with the other team members when opportunities are observed that need addressing.
  • Maintain a positive attitude. Lead the teams to success, engage the team members, help them to learn, grow, and be their very best. Lead by example.
  • Assist with the onboarding and training of new hires as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
