Position Summary: The Operations Continuous Improvement Specialist will drive process improvements within the PSG Grand Rapids – Blackmer organization. The scope includes detailed manufacturing continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing interactions between Supply Chain and Production, and striving for enterprise-wide cross-functional synchronization to achieve year-over-year productivity and successful customer outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Execute for the production team by identifying improvement opportunities, mobilizing action plans, and implementing control plans to ensure realization of targeted savings.
  2. Provide leadership in labor productivity initiatives.
  3. Serve as a change agent by sharing and implementing methods, tools, and best practices.
  4. Utilize lean management and continuous improvement techniques to establish baseline processes and create future state plans that eliminate waste while balancing cost and service levels.
  5. Facilitate process improvement activities to enable business-wide process consistency and maximize productivity benefits.
  6. Advise and collaborate with functional leaders on issues impacting inventory, workflow, capacity, and quality.
  7. Analyze data to focus efforts on high-impact solutions and measure tangible improvements.
  8. Train and develop Continuous Improvement champions and operational staff in problem-solving tools like Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why’s, Fishbone Diagram, etc.
  9. Implement 5S and visual management plans to sustain improvements.
  10. Implement employee improvement ideas and manage production tool kanban.
  11. Recognize waste and work to eliminate it from daily routines.
  12. Support safety, quality, and production activities across the plant.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field from an accredited institution
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in OEM product operations (manufacturing, assembly, supply chain)
  • Deep knowledge of Kaizen and/or Lean methodologies, tools, and practices, with ability to instruct others
  • Experience coaching others in improvement activities
  • Project management, policy deployment, and digital metrics experience
  • Strong data analysis skills and computer proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, TPS, etc.) or equivalent

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Pay Range: [per hour / annually]
