Job summary

Batory Foods is seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our Quality Systems team. You will help implement process improvements, manage CI projects, and standardize procedures under the Master Black Belt. A strong data analytics background and Excel proficiency are essential, with up to 25% travel.

Ideal candidates have a science degree and several years of related experience, and we value self-motivation, collaboration, and a focus on relentless improvement.

Job Description

We are looking to add an organized and highly motivated Continuous Improvement Specialist to our Quality Systems team which is working to create better ways to support the organization through quality systems and continuous improvement projects. The Continuous Improvement Specialist will report to the Master Black Belt and assist them in building and implementing process improvements, managing projects, and standardizing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help establish a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provide basic training to employees to establish a baseline knowledge of quality principles.
  • Illustrate the benefits of a process-based approach over more historical ad hoc methods.
Continuous Improvement
  • Create and implement project ideas.
  • Participate in and lead Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Help the Quality Systems Manager and Master Black Belt manage the project pipeline.
Support Problem-solving And Root Cause Analysis
  • Build models and/or use software where necessary to solve complex problems.
  • Assist other departments in the organization in problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Lead root cause analysis and preventative action investigations.
  • Gather, analyze, and derive clear conclusions from various types of data sets.
  • Write clear standard operating procedures.

  • Communicates with co-workers in a professional manner.
  • Treats co-workers with respect always.
  • Employs effective teamwork skills to collaborate with all departments.
Education And Qualifications
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in science and 2 years of experience in engineering, food science, food technology, food manufacturing, microbiology, or related field; or a minimum 5 years of equivalent experience.
  • Be extremely self-motivated and constantly curios.
  • Strong understanding of Data Analytics and Process Improvement Principles.
  • Strong understanding of Data Management principles (database management experience is preferred).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (knowledge of statistical, lookup/reference, and complex logic functions).
  • Ability to problem solve and work in a fast-paced environment without a lot of structure and/or supervision.
  • Proven experience communicating with a range of different stakeholders and strong presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
