Job summary

Acoustical Sheetmetal Company (ASC) seeks a Continuous Improvement Manager to lead the CI strategy across manufacturing and operations. You will drive Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen events, and structured problem solving to improve productivity, quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

You will partner with leadership to identify opportunities, mentor teams, and sustain gains through data-driven decisions and process optimization across all shifts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years leading or implementing continuous improvement in manufacturing.
  • Experience in engineer-to-order, fabrication, or industrial operations preferred.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead ASC's Continuous Improvement program aligned with goals and priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, productivity gains, and cost reduction.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events and structured problem-solving initiatives.
  • Use Lean, Six Sigma, RCA and other CI methods to drive data-based decisions.
  • Analyze processes, remove bottlenecks, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Coach and mentor teams; promote best practices across shifts.
  • Develop communication strategies to boost engagement in CI initiatives.
  • Track KPIs and present updates to plant leadership.
  • Drive labor efficiency through workflow design and capital investment.

Acoustical Sheetmetal Company (ASC) provides on-site power integration for large-scale data centers. We offer sound-attenuated and weather-protective packaging for on-site power generation equipment, with products ranging from economical skin-tight enclosures to entire multi-unit power plants.

We work to reform and modernize the integration process in a multitude of ways. Our personnel include certified welders, licensed electricians, and machinists, as well as an engineering design team that works with production in an assembly line process immersed in the language and culture of quality control. We offer project management and administrative support for the submittals process as well as advanced welding engineering, freight distribution management, CAD visualization and unparalleled field service.

Role Overview

The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for leading ASC's Continuous Improvement (CI) strategy and driving measurable operational results across the organization. This role partners closely with manufacturing and operations leadership to identify opportunities, eliminate waste, improve productivity, and strengthen processes through Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen events, and structured problem-solving methodologies.

This is a highly visible leadership role that focuses on building a culture of continuous improvement while empowering team members at all levels to identify opportunities, solve problems, and implement sustainable solutions. Success in this role will be measured through improvements in productivity, labor efficiency, cycle times, quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead ASC's Continuous Improvement program, ensuring alignment with company goals, strategic initiatives, and operational priorities
  • Partner with manufacturing and operations leadership to identify opportunities for process improvement, productivity gains, and cost reduction
  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events, process improvement workshops, and structured problem-solving initiatives
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, and other CI methodologies to drive data-based decision-making and measurable business results
  • Analyze current processes, identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and develop sustainable solutions that improve operational performance
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members on continuous improvement principles, tools, and techniques
  • Work hands‑on with production teams to implement process changes and reinforce best practices on the manufacturing floor
  • Develop communication strategies that build awareness, engagement, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives across the organization
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the effectiveness of improvement efforts and overall program success
  • Present project updates, results, and recommendations to plant leadership and senior management
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, innovation, and continuous learning
  • Support all shifts as needed to ensure successful implementation and sustainment of CI initiatives
  • Drive labor efficiency improvements through process optimization, workflow design, and strategic capital investment opportunities
  • Ensure all improvement activities support ASC's commitments to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading or implementing continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in an engineer‑to‑order, fabrication, industrial, or manufacturing operation preferred
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other Continuous Improvement certification strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success leading process improvement projects that produce measurable operational results
  • Strong knowledge of Lean principles, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, Kaizen facilitation, and change management
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to drive decision‑making and action planning
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence teams across multiple departments and organizational levels
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, facilitation, and training skills
  • Self‑starter with a passion for problem‑solving and organizational improvement
  • Strong project management, organization, and time management skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
  • Commitment to safety, quality, accountability, and operational excellence
Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to regularly walk the production floor and interact with manufacturing teams
  • Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout manufacturing areas during assessments and improvement activities
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to support multiple shifts and work flexible hours when required to facilitate improvement initiatives
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments
