What you will do

Working under the framework of Johnson Controls' Continuous Improvement system, you will assess current state performance, identify gaps, visualize and establish a plan to reach the future state, monitor progress, and share or acquire best-in-class ideas and systems.

Responsibilities include:

• Identify gaps in Best Business Practice Metrics (BBPs), and work with all levels of the plant to establish and execute strategies for improvement.

• Assess the current state of the plant's operations; develop a future state vision; and drive and monitor the implementation plan.

• Coach the CI team, including Plant Staff, Lean Implementers, Black Belts, and Green Belts, to apply appropriate DMAIC tools for improvement.

• Establish a continuous improvement Profit Plan and forecast goals; drive the team to achieve them.

• Ensure Process Owner involvement in SOW development and team leadership.

• Develop a 'pull' system to replace BBs and LIs with qualified 'management-potential' personnel.

• Use standard tracking and reporting systems to prepare detailed plans, drive project performance, and ensure timely completion and achievement of quality and savings goals.

• Collaborate with leadership to develop a plant CI Roadmap, driving breakthrough or best-in-class performance through 1. Just Do It improvements, 2. Six Sigma projects, and 3. Lean implementation projects.

• Assist Process Owners in identifying barriers to project success and drive necessary changes.

• Document improvement process learning and share best practices with other Black Belts.

• Identify and propose new project opportunities to the Champion.

What we look for

Required

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, preferably in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of experience. In the absence of a four-year degree, at least 8 years of relevant experience is required.

• Proven high-level performance in previous roles.

• Experience working in large, complex organizations.

• Initiative and motivation to drive change and exceed expectations.

• Leadership skills with the ability to manage both vertically and horizontally; this role supervises 4 Lean Implementers.

• Basic statistical knowledge and the ability to apply statistics to product and process improvements.

• Proficiency with MS Office, especially spreadsheets.

• Green Belt or higher Six Sigma certification.
