SUMMARY

Provide technical expertise to enhance manufacturing capabilities and processes to produce quality products at the most competitive price. Develop lean training and coordinate continuous improvement activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Lead and coordinate plant continuous improvement activities to support safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements.
  2. Train, develop, manage, and lead a cross-functional team of lean practitioners.
  3. Develop and provide lean training, coordinate Kaizen activities (value stream mapping, 5S, standardized work, line balancing, visual controls, report outs, environmental/safety approvals, etc.) and develop tracking mechanisms to measure improvements.
  4. Develop project plans to ensure timely and cost-effective completion, involving all relevant departments and stakeholders.
  5. Maintain and update documentation including DMS/PDS sheets, process and quality documents, run rates, TS and ISO certifications, safety, and training tasks.
  6. Assist in resolving production problems as a troubleshooter for processes at the facility.
  7. Engage in self-development of lean manufacturing through coursework, seminars, workshops, and staying current with lean tools and techniques.
  8. Develop and implement employee training on new processes and equipment, ensuring documentation and safety.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and 3-5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical and business documents, and to lead a team effectively.
  • Capability to develop project plans, coordinate projects, and manage team activities to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency with mathematical concepts, statistics, and applying them to practical situations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, data interpretation, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Green or Black Belt Certification is preferred.
