Job summary

Carrier is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer in Indianapolis to join the Carrier Excellence (Cx) Team. You will work with industrial and manufacturing engineers to identify, implement and sustain process improvements across lines and facilities.

Ideal candidates have Lean and Six Sigma experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives. The role emphasizes safety, quality, cost reduction and on-time delivery in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2+ years in continuous improvement, industrial engineering, or manufacturing operations.
  • 2+ years applying Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.

Responsibilities

  • Apply Cx Operating System, focusing on Goal Deployment, Daily Management, and Problem Solving.
  • Drive measurable improvements for safety, delivery, cost and productivity.
  • Analyze demand and model mix to optimize product flow through fabrication and assembly lines.

About This Role

In this role as a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you’ll be an integral member of the Indianapolis Carrier Excellence (Cx) Team and work alongside industrial engineers, operations, and manufacturing engineers to identify, implement, and sustain process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply Cx Operating System, focusing on Goal Deployment, Daily Management, and Problem Solving
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive best class processes while working to become a recognized Cx Practitioner
  • Drive measurable improvements that support goals for safety, customer, delivery, cost and productivity.
  • Analyze demand and model mix to optimize product flow through fabrication and multiple assembly lines
  • Analyze current processes to identify and remove waste and reduce process variation
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years of experience in continuous improvement, industrial engineering, or manufacturing operations.
  • 2+ years of experience applying Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Analytical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma principles and systems thinking to effectively lead the projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Effective at working with stakeholders at all organization levels
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex ideas simply
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities gracefully under pressure
  • Demonstrated leadership and motivation in a complex work environment
  • Project management skills and comfortable communicating at all levels of management and with external customers and suppliers
  • Highly motivated, organized and flexible individual that is customer and results focused
Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 - $129,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.

Other Compensation

Thisposition may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
