Job summary

Stier Supply Company, a family-owned builder materials leader in the Southeast, seeks a Continuous Improvement professional to drive lean initiatives and standardize processes across multiple sites.

You will analyze workflows, lead cross-functional improvement projects, and develop metrics and SOPs while supporting system implementations and travel to various locations.

Qualifications

  • 1-5+ years of experience in continuous improvement, operations, manufacturing, or distribution.
  • Experience with Lean, Kaizen, 6S, or similar process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading projects and driving change across teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, and 6S methodologies.
  • Analyze processes, identify waste, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Facilitate value stream mapping and cross-functional improvement projects.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and operational metrics.
  • Partner with Distribution Center leaders to standardize processes and implement best practices in the DC.
  • Support Warehouse Management System (WMS) adoption and process compliance.
  • Develop SOPs, training materials, and process documentation.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts.
  • Support change management initiatives tied to process and system improvements.
  • Travel to various locations to support implementation and sustainment.

What You'll Do

Requirements

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Competence in commonly used and specialized software.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in high-paced and evolving environments.
  • Basic knowledge of woodworking tools.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and diplomacy when interacting with staff and coworkers.
  • Ability to make informed decisions and influence decision-making.
  • Exceptional work ethic focused on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Multitasking capabilities with a passion for Continuous Improvement.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A predisposition to instill a zero-defect mentality among leaders.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
