Job summary

Panduit seeks a Continuous Improvement Engineer in the United States to partner with cross-functional teams and drive Lean initiatives that enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and efficiency.

The role applies Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, A3, PDCA, DMAIC, and Root Cause Analysis to eliminate waste, standardize practices, and sustain measurable gains across operations. Up to 10% travel is expected. We offer a competitive total rewards program and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or related technical field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Continuous Improvement or related manufacturing environment.
  • PI Bronze certification (or equivalent Lean certification) within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and operational performance.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and data to identify waste reduction and productivity gains.
  • Apply Lean methodologies (Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, A3, PDCA, DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis) to drive sustainable improvements.
  • Manage CI projects from planning through implementation with clear objectives and timelines.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, standard work, visual management tools, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations to standardize best practices.
  • Monitor KPIs, validate results, and recommend ongoing optimization.
  • Coach employees in Lean principles to foster a culture of operational excellence.

The Continuous Improvement Engineer partners with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and implement process improvements that enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and operational efficiency. This role applies Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies to eliminate waste, optimize processes, and drive sustainable operational excellence. By leveraging data, structured problem-solving, and collaboration, the Continuous Improvement Engineer supports strategic initiatives that improve productivity, standardize best practices, and strengthen overall business performance.

What You Will Do
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and operational performance.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and operational data to identify opportunities for waste reduction, productivity improvements, and process optimization.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and structured problem-solving methodologies, including Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, A3, PDCA, DMAIC, and Root Cause Analysis, to drive sustainable improvements.
  • Manage continuous improvement projects from planning through implementation, ensuring objectives, timelines, and deliverables are achieved.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, standard work, visual management tools, project reports, and performance metrics to support operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to implement process improvements, standardize best practices, and support organizational change.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), validate improvement results, and provide recommendations for ongoing optimization.
  • Coach and support employees in the application of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to foster a culture of operational excellence.
  • Up to 10% travel.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Excellence, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • PI Bronze certification (or equivalent Lean certification) obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and operational excellence concepts.
  • Experience applying structured problem-solving tools such as Kaizen, A3, PDCA, DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, evaluate opportunities, and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while effectively managing priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering solutions that support both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience using data analysis, reporting, and process mapping tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change, influence cross‑functional teams, and sustain continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Compensation: The expected annual base salary range for this role is $80,000- $95,000. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
