Job summary

AJ Rose Manufacturing Company is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer in Avon, OH to lead initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost.

The role collaborates with Operations, Quality and Engineering to analyze processes, perform time studies, develop standard work, and drive Lean and Six Sigma projects on the shop floor.

You will coach supervisors, document improvements, and sustain results through visual management and training materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 1–3 years in manufacturing, CI, industrial engineering, or related area.
• Experience leading Kaizen activities is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and data analysis abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead CI projects delivering improvements in safety, quality, productivity, OEE, and cost.
• Facilitate Kaizen events and sustain improvements.
• Coach leaders in problem-solving methods and Lean strategies.
• Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste with production teams.
• Develop process documentation, standard work, and visual management.
• Perform time studies, workflow analyses, and on-floor observation.
• Support corrective and preventive actions.

Position Summary:

The Continuous Improvement Specialist will work closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and other departments to identify opportunities for improvement in Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost.

Salary Range:

$62,987-$94,480

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support continuous improvement projects that deliver measurable improvements in safety, quality, productivity, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), setup reduction, capacity and cost.
• Facilitate Kaizen and Continuous Improvement events including the support required to sustain the established improvements.
• Coach and support operational leaders in meeting business improvement metrics and driving culture change by utilizing problem-solving methods, Lean manufacturing tools, and strategies
• Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the operations while working with production teams to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, waste, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, standard work instructions, process maps, and visual management tools.
• Follow up on improvement projects to verify that implemented changes are delivering sustainable results.
• Perform time studies, process observations, and workflow analysis.
• Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Spend significant time on the manufacturing floor observing processes, engaging employees, and supporting improvement initiatives.
• Build relationships with operators, supervisors, and managers to drive engagement and sustain continuous improvement in culture.
• Create, edit, and maintain visual work instructions, training materials, and process documentation using photographs, video recordings, screen captures, and other multimedia tools to support standardization, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment through hands-on involvement with operators, setup personnel, maintenance technicians, and supervisors.
• Become a subject matter expert on assigned equipment, processes, and workflows in order to identify improvement opportunities, support troubleshooting efforts, and drive operational excellence.
• Work hands‑on with manufacturing equipment and processes to identify improvement opportunities and support operational excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.

Experience:

• 1 to 3 years of experience in manufacturing, continuous improvement, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, operations, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering.
• Experience leading Kaizen activities.
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Lean Manufacturing certification.
• Experience in metal stamping, assembly lines, or industrial manufacturing.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, Power BI, ERP/MES systems including PLEX, or other data analysis tools to drive decision‑making are preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work flexible hours to support training needs.
• Good, corrected vision and hearing.
• Light lifting (up to 20-40 pounds occasionally).
• Manual dexterity and mobility (climbing and walking).
