Role Description

The Continuous Improvement Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area, focused on optimizing operations within Ryder’s supply chain and logistics environment. This role involves analyzing existing processes, identifying performance gaps, and designing data-driven improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. The Continuous Improvement Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement industrial engineering solutions, standard work, and best practices, while tracking key performance indicators to measure results. Day-to-day activities include leading continuous improvement projects, facilitating problem-solving workshops, documenting processes, and supporting change management to ensure sustainable operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and support evidence-based decision-making.
• Experience in Operational Excellence methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and continuous improvement frameworks.
• Background in Industrial Engineering or related engineering disciplines, preferably in logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing environments.
• Proven Process Improvement skills, including mapping workflows, eliminating waste, and optimizing system performance.
• Project Management capabilities to plan, execute, and monitor improvement initiatives, including stakeholder communication and timeline management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field; advanced certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) are a plus.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, BI tools) and familiarity with KPIs and performance dashboards.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across functions and support on-site teams in a dynamic operational setting.
