Position Details

Position: Continuing Education – Secondary Summer School Teachers

Location: St. Mary’s College, Sault Ste. Marie, ON or remotely

Schedule: July 2 – July 29, 2025 – 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM (Monday to Friday)

Rate of Pay: $56.57/hour

Job Description

The Board is seeking Catholic educators to work with staff, students, parents, and the community during its secondary summer school program. Candidates should be able to provide students with learning goals, success criteria, and descriptive feedback in an online environment. Attendance at training on the Learning Management System (LMS) is required, unless already trained.

Teachers are expected to be online from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, with a lunch break from 12:00 to 12:40 pm. Alternative workspaces at St. Mary’s College are available for teachers with limited internet bandwidth.

Courses Offered

Pending enrolment, the following courses will be available:

In-Person (SMC)

• Grade 9 – Expressions of First Nations, Metis and Inuit Cultures (NAC1O)
• Grade 10 – First Nations, Metis and Inuit in Canada (NAC2O)

Online Only (Teachers may work remotely or at St. Mary’s College)

• Grade 11 – World Religion (HRT3M)

Qualifications

• Qualifications to teach one or more of the listed courses
• Proficiency with the Learning Management System (LMS)
