Job Description:

Under the direction of the Dean of the University College, the Continuing Education (CE) Instructor is responsible for conducting non-degree professional certificate programs, courses, and seminars for non-credit individuals and organizations through the University College's Center for Professional Development. CE Instructors offer flexible formats, employing state of art practices, ranging from intensive sessions focused on various areas of interest, to professional certificates that are innovative, integrated, relevant, and competency-based, to personal development programs covering a range of topics.

Develop and Conduct Non-Credit Professional Development (PD) Offering(s)

  1. Design and develop a high-quality continuing education offering and provide a detailed outline of each session.
  2. Complete the CE Offering Description Form that includes course description, instructional methods, objectives, required texts, projects, expectations of students, course details, and instructor contact information (including an RWU email address).
  3. Issue a grade in accordance with the approved CPD grade scheme upon the completion of the CE session and create and issue signed certificates, CEUs, etc. issued by the dean of continuing studies as required.
  4. Distribute, collect, and evaluate student/participant satisfaction surveys to determine the effectiveness of the continuing education offering(s).

Requirements:

Expertise in the specific field or profession.
Knowledge of conducting trainings and/or professional development to adult learners.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's or Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline, as necessary.
Recognized as a leader or expert in the specific field of professional development.

At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be accepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
