Content Writer (Contract)

Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.

Summary

The main function of a Content Writer is to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing, and maintaining technical records and files.

Job Responsibilities

• Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
• Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
• Confer with clients to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication.
• Research, plan, design, write, and continuously update game-related content and training materials.
• Create high-quality documentation using clear and concise language.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams worldwide to document tools, APIs, processes, and workflows.
• Create support content for players and documentation for agents related to new launches and updates.
• Review and edit content from partners, players, and the community.
• Work with program managers and support teams to stay updated on game developments and create supportive content.
• Use data to inform content and training strategies and improvements.
• Align content with business goals and team priorities.

Requirements

• Experience creating consumer-facing instructions for technical processes supporting self-service and email support.
• Experience developing internal knowledge bases and training resources is preferred.
• Must upload a writing portfolio along with the resume when applying.
• 1-2 years of experience in game-related content writing or training.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly and accurately.
• Passion for gaming and interest in technology trends.
• Desire to build a top-tier player experience.

Additional Details

• Location: Remote
• Duration: 18 months
• Pay Range: $29 - $33/hour
• Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
