Job description

Til Valhalla Project's growth depends on creative. Every ad that acquires a customer, every product launch that sells through, every email that re-engages a member starts with a business need - and only works if that need becomes the right asset, in the right format, at the right time. This role was created to make that happen faster and more effectively.

The Content Manager is the central connector between what the business needs and what actually gets made. Part brand manager, part producer, you'll work across paid media, e-commerce, CRM, and product teams to translate channel needs into clear briefs then partner with in-house creatives, UGC creators, influencers, and agencies deliver high-performing work on time and on brand.

This is a performance-based role. The goal is to create and curate high-ROI creative that drives growth and expands our ability to fund our mission and philanthropic efforts. The strongest content connects sales and mission into a single performance engine — because our mission scales when the content performs.

You’ll own the content calendar and library, reduce unnecessary revision cycles, and ensure the right creative is available when each channel needs it. AI fluency is a core expectation, with AI used to accelerate ideation, briefing, production, testing, analysis, and iteration.

Success isn’t measured by asset volume. It’s measured by whether the creative shows up on time, performs when it runs, and helps the business learn and improve faster.

Key Responsibilities
Channel Partnership & Briefing
  • Partner with paid media, e-commerce, CRM/email, retention, and product teams to understand upcoming needs, business objectives, and the specific role each asset is meant to play
  • Translate those needs into clear, actionable creative briefs that define the objective, audience, channel and placement, format and spec requirements, key message, mandatories, reference examples, and deadline
  • Maintain a forward-looking view of demand across channels — ad account testing needs, product launches, seasonal and memorial moments, promotional calendar, membership and CRM campaigns — so production is planned, not reactive
  • Push back and ask the hard questions when a request is vague, duplicative, or unlikely to deliver, and help stakeholders sharpen what they're actually asking for
  • Serve as the single point of contact stakeholders go to for creative requests, so the pipeline runs through one clear intake rather than a dozen side channels
Creative Production & Partner Management
  • Source, onboard, and manage the right creative partners for each project — in-house designers, photographers, videographers, UGC creators, influencers, freelancers, and agencies — matching the partner to the need and the budget
  • Manage creator and agency relationships end to end: briefing, contracting and usage rights, product seeding, timelines, feedback, approvals, and payment coordination
  • Own creator and UGC production for paid media and CRM assets specifically — ad account testing volume, product launch creative, and email and lifecycle assets (organic social feed content is briefed and sourced separately by the social team)
  • Build and maintain a bench of vetted UGC creators and freelance talent so we can scale paid creative volume quickly when the ad account needs more to test
  • Run the feedback and revision process — consolidating stakeholder input into clear, singular direction rather than passing along conflicting notes
  • Set creators up to succeed the first time by giving them the context, examples, and specificity that prevent avoidable revision rounds
  • Ensure every deliverable meets spec, brand standards, and legal and usage requirements before it ships
Project & Timeline Management
  • Own the production calendar across all active projects, with clear milestones, dependencies, and owners
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects at different stages without losing detail on any of them
  • Work backward from launch dates to build realistic timelines, and hold every party — internal and external — to them
  • Identify risk early and elevate with a proposed solution while there's still time to act
  • Track project status transparently so stakeholders always know where their assets stand without having to ask
  • Manage production budgets against project scope and flag trade-offs when scope and budget diverge
Content Library & Asset Operations
  • Build, organize, and maintain the content library so any internal team or external partner can find the right asset in seconds
  • Establish and enforce naming conventions, tagging, folder structure, versioning, and archival standards
  • Track usage rights, licensing terms, and expiration dates for creator, influencer, and talent content, and make sure nothing runs past its window
  • Make existing assets visible and reusable, reducing net-new production requests where something suitable already exists
  • Keep the library current as new content comes in from shoots, events, creators, and partnerships, including event footage captured by the social team — organic is its primary use, but the library remains the system of record so anything worth repurposing is findable
Creative Quality & Effectiveness
  • Uphold brand standards across every asset — voice, visual identity, and the tone our mission demands, especially for memorial and tribute content
  • Develop and apply a working understanding of what performs in each channel, so briefs are built around effective creative principles rather than taste alone
  • Close the loop between performance and production: review results with the paid, CRM, and social teams, identify what's working, and feed those learnings into future briefs
  • Build and maintain a reference library of high-performing creative — ours and competitors' — as a briefing tool
  • Continuously improve the briefing and production process to reduce cycle time and revision rounds
Key Skills & Qualifications
  • Exceptional organization and detail orientation. You run multiple projects at once, track moving deliverables, and nothing falls through. Systems and documentation come naturally to you, not as an afterthought.
  • Producer's discipline on timelines. You build realistic schedules, hold partners accountable without friction, and treat a launch date as immovable.
  • Strong briefing skills. You can take an ambiguous business need and turn it into a brief a creator can execute against without a follow-up call.
  • Understanding of effective creative. More than an eye for what looks good — you know what makes an ad stop the scroll, what makes an email get clicked, and why. You can articulate that to a creator in terms they can act on.
  • Brand judgment. You protect brand integrity while recognizing that channel-native creative sometimes shouldn't look like brand creative, and you know when each applies.
  • Creator and vendor management. Experience briefing and managing external creators, freelancers, or agencies, including scope, rights, and payment logistics.
  • Cross-functional communication. Comfortable working between performance marketers, e-commerce, CRM, and creatives — three groups that speak different languages — and translating among them.
  • Feedback skills. You consolidate messy stakeholder input into clear direction and deliver critique in a way that improves the work and the relationship.
  • Data comfort. Able to read creative performance reporting and draw practical conclusions from it.
  • Ai and project management tools. Fluent in leveraging Ai tools to drive efficiency across the content process, project management software (Asana, Monday, ClickUp, or similar), asset management and review tools, and comfortable enough in Adobe/Figma/Canva to communicate precisely with creatives.
  • Mission fit. Genuine respect for the military, veteran, and first responder community and the sensitivity our memorial work requires.
  • Experience. 5+ years in content production, creative operations, creative project management, brand management, or producing — ideally at a DTC or consumer brand running paid social at scale.
