Job summary

Talarico for Texas is seeking a full-time Content Manager to support the ideation and drafting of digital content that can break through a fragmented media landscape. You will craft narratives tailored to diverse online audiences and coordinate with production teams to ensure content fits intended outputs.

You will need strong writing, editorial judgement, and fluency with new media platforms, with a willingness to work nights and some weekends; location is Austin, Texas.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year in political communications or related field.
  • Exceptional writing and editorial judgement.
  • Fluent on new media platforms, social media, Reddit, Substack, and others.
  • Deep familiarity with digital media landscape and platform best practices.
  • Strong organizational skills; can manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to balance speed with quality in a fast-changing political environment.
  • Willingness to work nights and some weekends.

About the Role

Talarico for Texas is building a people-powered movement to take back power for working Texans. We are seeking a full-time Content Manager to join our communications team and support the ideation and drafting of digital content capable of breaking through an increasingly fragmented and fast-moving new media environment.

Responsibilities
  • Draft and storyboard digital content capable of translating messaging and policy priorities into compelling, accessible narratives tailored to diverse online audiences
  • Adapt content drafts for the unique needs of every type of new media platform — including non-traditional online spaces capable of reaching audiences who don’t frequently engage in politics
  • Identify and execute creative opportunities for real-time, viral content tied to news cycles and cultural moments
  • Collaborate with team members responsible for content production (videographers, editors, etc.) to ensure content drafts are compatible with the desired production outputs
Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in political communications, digital media, or a related field
  • Exceptional writing skills and strong editorial judgement
  • Fluent in new media platforms, social media, Reddit, Substack, and others
  • Deep familiarity with the evolving digital media landscape, including video trends and platform-specific best practices
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to balance speed with quality in a rapidly adapting political environment
  • Willingness to work nights and some weekends

Reports to: Deputy Director for Creative Content

Location: Austin, Texas

Salary: $7,000 per month
