Job description

Smith EMS | Minnetonka, MN (Hybrid, mostly remote and on-site at events)

Pay: $20 to $24/hour

Hours: 10 to 20 per week, consistent year-round, with a path to 30 per week within 6 months when growth targets are met

Start date: As soon as possible after hire (flexible)

Reports to: Founder & CEO

ABOUT SMITH EMS

Smith EMS provides licensed EMTs and paramedics for high school and youth sports across Minnesota and neighboring states. We partner with 80+ athletic programs and have covered 8,000+ games. Our medics are W-2 employees working under licensed physician medical direction. Safety Is the Heart of Sport, and our content should make people feel that.

THE ROLE

You will own Smith EMS's day-to-day social presence. You find the trends, shoot on your phone, edit, and post. Every post is approved before it goes live, and approvals come back within 24 hours.

When leadership requests camera-grade work, you produce it on our Sony A7 III and DJI Osmo Pocket 3, with our lighting and audio kit. That typically means a few pieces per month, filmed in batches: brand films, recruitment videos, partner testimonials, and event recaps.

This role is highly independent. You will be trusted to spot opportunities, make creative calls, and keep content moving without being told what to post each day. Hours stay consistent all year, so in slower seasons you will plan and batch content ahead.

WHY JOIN
  • Company-provided iPhone for content
  • Hands-on work with professional camera, lighting, and audio gear
  • Minnesota earned sick and safe time
  • Consistent hours year-round with a clear path to more
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Own Instagram and LinkedIn, and grow Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok
  • Find trending formats and audio, and adapt them to youth sports, sports medicine, and the Smith EMS brand
  • Shoot and edit short-form content on a company iPhone, start to finish
  • Appear on camera and approach athletes, coaches, and fans at events
  • Shoot photo and video on the Sony A7 III and Osmo Pocket 3 when leadership requests it, including lighting and audio setup
  • Shoot on-site at games and events across the Twin Cities
  • Follow media consent policies when filming athletes
  • Supply photos for our weekly blog and other marketing materials
  • Keep an organized footage and photo library, and take care of company gear
  • Respond to comments and DMs, routing partner inquiries to leadership the same day
  • Document your workflows as SOPs
HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED
  • 4+ posts per week (a piece cross-posted to multiple channels counts as one)
  • 1+ trend-based post per week, adapted to our market and brand
  • Leadership-requested camera projects delivered as edited drafts within 5 business days of the shoot
  • Raw footage and photos uploaded and organized within 48 hours
  • Baseline metrics set in your first 30 days, then quarterly targets for follower growth, reach, and engagement, set together with leadership
  • A short monthly report on all of the above

Hitting your growth targets is what unlocks more hours, up to 30 per week.

Your first weeks are spent learning. You will shadow the Founder & CEO to learn our creative style, research what other brands are posting, and shadow our medics on shifts to understand the work you are showing the world.
