Chattanooga 2.0, a nonprofit uniting schools, nonprofits, businesses, government and community leaders, seeks a Content and Communications Manager to translate complex systems-change work into clear stories for partners, families, funders and the public.
This role blends strong writing with hands-on digital communications, social media management, basic design in Canva, website updates, newsletters and campaign execution.
The Content and Communications Manager supports Chattanooga 2.0’s mission by managing day-to-day content creation and communications execution, helping translate complex systems-change work into clear, engaging stories and resources for community partners, families, funders, policymakers, and the public.
Chattanooga 2.0 is a nonprofit organization that brings together schools, nonprofits, businesses, government, and community leaders to improve education and workforce outcomes for children and young people across Hamilton County—from birth through career.
This newly-created role combines strong writing and storytelling with hands-on digital communications, social media management, basic graphic design, website management, and campaign implementation. Working closely with organizational leadership (and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer), the manager will develop and maintain a consistent organizational voice and ensure Chattanooga 2.0’s work is communicated clearly, creatively, and strategically across channels.
This position is ideal for a versatile communications professional who enjoys balancing strategy and execution. The manager will own social media management, digital communications, graphic design, website updates, newsletters, campaign implementation and performance tracking, and storytelling across Chattanooga 2.0’s “Big Bets,” including early childhood, literacy, adolescent supports, and workforce pathways. The role will work collaboratively across our small team to ensure communications align with strategic priorities while maintaining consistent branding and messaging to build awareness and support for the organization.
The ideal candidate is a creative thinker, a strong storyteller, and versatile content creator who is equally comfortable developing a communications plan, drafting a compelling story, designing a clean Canva graphic, or publishing content online. They are curious enough to understand complex community issues, organized enough to manage multiple channels and deadlines, and creative enough to recognize stories others might overlook. They value both strategy and execution and are excited to use communications to help people understand and engage with Chattanooga 2.0’s impactful community work.
