Job summary

MVI Field Services is seeking a field technician to assist with sump testing around underground storage tanks (USTs) and related components. You will work with the Containment Technician to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations and meet client requirements with courtesy and professionalism.

The role requires driving to various sites, travel Monday–Friday (expenses covered), and maintaining equipment in good condition.

Qualifications

• Assist Containment Technician with sump testing and regulatory compliance (Federal/State regs).
• Maintain and operate company vehicles and equipment safely.
• Travel Monday–Friday; company covers travel expenses.
• Pre-employment physical and background check required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license; EPA USTS knowledge.
• Stay current on State and Federal EPA UST requirements.

DESCRIPTION:

The successful applicant will be trained to assist with sump testing around underground storage tanks (UST’S), its piping, and components in accordance with Federal, State, and other applicable regulations, as well as within client requirements. Assistant will represent and promote MVI Field Services in a courteous and cordial manner, building client confidence and maximum efficiency for the business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist the Containment Technician with the following:

• Ability to drive and maintain company service truck. This includes a clean driving record and the ability to store a company vehicle at your home
• Ability to travel Monday-Friday (company absorbs travel expenses)
• Must complete a pre-employment physical and background check.
• Have a valid U.S. driver’s license
• Remain current on State and Federal EPA USTS requirements
• Test sumps in accordance with all regulations
• Maintain company vehicles and equipment in good operating condition, including having vehicle serviced for preventative maintenance
• Develop a working knowledge of client sump components
• Responsible for following company expense policy and submitting all itemized receipts for expenses by the 7 th of each month
• Submit all reports timely and accurately, including monthly schedules and expenses in the appropriate software systems
• Remain current on applicable State and Federal EPA Underground Storage Tank (UST) regulations and maintain all required certifications based on their geographic area and assigned scope of work
• Ability to meet with clients and state regulators

EXPECTATIONS:

Assist the Containment Technician with the following:

• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
• Ability to follow strict safety and technical protocols
• Must be able to kneel, stand, lean, bend and/or sit, and climb a ladder while working
• Ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate applications on smartphones
• Experience using handheld tools
• Professional appearance and attitude
• Have attention to detail and an outstanding work ethic
