Job summary

PROtect, LLC is seeking a PLI Technician Assistant to support examinations on live pipelines, both gas and liquid. You will assist with data collection, ILI/dig sheet interpretation, and reporting, emphasizing safety and quality.

The role requires travel up to 70% nationwide, a high school diploma, NDT/NDE certification readiness, and proficiency with MS Office. You will work under field supervision and contribute to timely, compliant project delivery.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Willing to travel nationwide up to 70%+
  • Certified or certifiable in NDT/NDE methods (i.e. MT, UT & VT)
  • UTSW / UTT (1+ years preferred)
  • PAUT (+1 years preferred)
  • MT (+1 years preferred)
  • Pass internal qualifications, written exams, specific exams as well as practical examinations.
  • MS Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiency preferred
  • Knowledge of regulatory codes (OSHA, EPA, API, NFPA, ASME) is preferred
  • Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain TWIC card
  • Knowledge/experience with Trimble GPS is preferred
  • OQ NCCER preferred
  • Ability to pass DOT & NON-DOT Drug examinations
  • Own 4x4 vehicle and laptop for reporting

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in company & client safety programs.
  • Understand & interpret ILI data and dig sheets.
  • Perform NDT/NDE tasks, with certification where required.
  • Report results professionally and timely.
  • Set up and utilize various forms of equipment.
  • Adhere to safety, health, quality, and operational guidelines.
  • Identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Maintain equipment and data reports.
  • Complete time and material sheets and daily workflow documents.
  • Support management with other tasks as needed.
  • Follow company code of conduct on and off projects.

Summary

The PLI Technician Assistant will be responsible for assisting with various examinations on live natural gas or liquid pipelines. Detailing examinations but not limited to company report formats and interfacing with the customer representative(s). Emphasis is placed on the quality of work product, safety and efficiency of work execution safety and responsibility.

Requirements
Required / Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • High School Diploma and Equivalent
  • Requires travel nationwide or nationwide 70%+
  • Certified or certifiable in NDT/NDE methods (i.e. MT, UT & VT)

  • PAUT (+1 years preferred)
  • MT (+1 years preferred)

  • Knowledge in application and compliance requirements of regulatory codes (OSHA, EPA, PHISMA etc.) and industry standards and recommended practices (API, NFPA, ASME, etc.) is preferred.
  • Ability to self-direct work schedule.
  • Make and keep company and customer commitments.
  • Ability to lead others.
  • Ability to share on-the-job knowledge with others.
  • Ability to communicate with multiple levels of employees / customers.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity and ethics.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license or must be able to obtain a T.W.I.C card.
  • Knowledge and experience with Trimble GPS is preferred.
  • OQ NCCER preferred.
  • Ability to pass DOT & NON-DOT Drug examinations.
  • Have own self transportation (4x4) vehicle.
  • Laptop PC for reporting and data review.
Working Conditions

  • Moving, carrying, and lifting objects up to 75+ pounds
  • Enter/Exit and work in excavations.
