Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking a Container Repair Mechanic to perform repairs, maintenance and installations of compactors and other stationary equipment in Maryland locations including Cockeysville, Street, Gaithersburg.

The role requires reading electrical and hydraulic schematics, diagnosing issues, and performing basic electrical work, welding and fabrication to ensure safe, productive operations. A high school diploma or GED and legal work status in the US are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18+ years old and legally eligible to work in the US.
• Equipment maintenance and repair experience preferred.
• Excellent listening, communication and problem solving skills; safety-focused.
• Welding and fabrication skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections, diagnostic tests, preventive maintenance and repairs on compactors and other stationary equipment.
• Reads electrical schematics, diagnoses and repairs electrical problems including high-voltage work.
• Reads hydraulic schematics, diagnoses and repairs hydraulic issues.
• Ensures proper installation and maintenance of equipment and assists with installations.
• Keeps to schedule and complete all assigned jobs daily; enters repair data accurately.
• Participates in training and other learning opportunities to support company goals and values.
