Job summary

Alaska Marine Lines seeks a maintenance technician to repair, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on containers, platforms, and tanks. This is a safety-sensitive role with a focus on welds and fabrications in a marine environment.

Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, performing structural repairs, setting up and executing welding tasks, and maintaining accurate records in the maintenance system. Company benefits apply and the pay rate depends on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing containers, platforms and tanks.
• Ability to weld and fabricate metal parts.
• Safety policies and use of PPE must be followed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair containers, platforms and tanks.
• Perform structural repairs as needed.
• Assess tasks, plan safety precautions and execute.
• Weld, cut and fit materials for repairs.
• Prepare items for welding and disassembly as needed.
• Work with sheet metal fabrication and flooring installations.
• Record daily repairs in maintenance software.
