Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating heavy equipment or container handling equipment preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications and licenses.
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate container handling equipment, including top loaders, forklifts, and JCBs.
• Load and unload shipping containers from trucks, railcars, and storage areas.
• Transport and position containers according to schedules and yard layouts.
• Inspect containers for damage, defects, and safety concerns.
• Conduct daily pre/post-operational equipment inspections.
• Report malfunctions, accidents, and unsafe conditions promptly.
• Maintain records of container locations and movements in tracking systems.
• Coordinate with management, drivers, and other operators for efficient workflow.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain clean work areas.
• Assist with other operational duties as assigned.
