Consumer & Sensory Research Site Manager

SAM The National Food Lab, based in Minneapolis, MN, provides these services for USA clients. We are now launching a new Consumer & Sensory Testing Facility in Bound Brook, NJ, and seek a dynamic, self-starting Research Site Manager to lead this initiative. This role involves overseeing the facility's setup, ensuring operational readiness, and managing daily operations to achieve efficiency and excellence.

Reporting to the Operations Director, the Research Site Manager will be responsible for hiring and training staff, managing logistics, establishing local testing solutions, and supporting database growth. Key responsibilities include supervising the team, refining operational processes, and maintaining top-tier service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Management & Training

• Train team members on fielding protocols and support operational excellence.
• Hire, supervise, and schedule staff to ensure project coverage and client satisfaction.
• Review and improve methodologies for efficiency, quality, and safety.

Research Logistics & Execution

• Coordinate project logistics and collaborate with project teams.
• Serve as the onsite client contact, ensuring a positive testing experience.
• Manage procurement, shipping, and storage of materials.

Facility & Operations Management

• Oversee daily facility operations, maintenance, and safety compliance.
• Manage vendor relationships and inventory.

Database Growth & Community Engagement

• Support participant recruitment and community outreach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Sciences, Hospitality, Market Research, Management, or related field.
• At least 3 years in management and 5 years in hospitality, foodservice, facilities, or consumer insights.
• Experience in facility management, research logistics, and supervisory roles.

Additional Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License and Insurance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and perform physical tasks.
