USDA-FSIS in the Philadelphia District seeks a Consumer Safety Inspector. You will operate in facilities that process meat, poultry and egg products, perform sampling, inspections, and quality checks, and verify compliance with sanitary and regulatory standards.

Shifts and species vary by assignment; you may be detailed to any plant. Eligible for incentives including a $5,000 sign-on bonus, creditable service for annual leave accrual, PSLF, and referral bonuses.

Competenze

• 52 weeks of qualifying experience at GS-05 level showing knowledge of regulated food commodities and substances.
• Knowledge of properties and characteristics of meat, poultry, fish, eggs, or other ingestibles.
• Experience in sampling, quality control, sanitation in a production environment.
• Ability to document findings in written reports and communicate them to others.
• Experience with reporting results to internal or external contacts about safety standards.
