Job description

Lead Auditor - GMP Quality Audits will perform high-level assessments of quality systems across various manufacturing sites, farms, processing plants, and other work-related locations throughout a region or country.

  1. Assess and report in accordance with UL, industry schemes, and client audit protocols on facilities' operational conditions related to established industry standards for GMP, Quality Systems, Food Safety initiatives, and/or client programs.
  2. Maintain a high level of technical knowledge and actively mentor trainees, auditors, and lead auditors in the field.
  3. Participate in and lead complex, higher-level audits involving advanced methodologies, thorough analysis, and detailed reporting. Reports will be written in English, objectively, accurately, comprehensively, and promptly.
  4. Specific Regulatory Standard(s) Competency:
    • OTC Drug/Pharmaceuticals: 21CFR211/210
    • Nutritional Supplements: 21CFR111
    • Medical/Homecare Devices: 21CFR820
    • Cosmetics: ISO22716
Qualifications
  • University Degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent); preferred in Food or Pharma Sciences, Engineering, Technology, or related fields.
  • Hold one or more scope-specific professional credentials, such as: GFSI-recognized auditor credential, CQA, RABQSA, IRCA, RAC, or Pharmaceutical GMP Professional Certification (CPGP).
  • Minimum four years of relevant work experience in manufacturing or retail sectors, including technical, supply chain, retail operations, quality assurance, or food safety; or equivalent experience in environmental or public health.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally, regionally, or locally (up to 70-80% annually).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in a second language if required.
  • Strong oral communication skills for addressing high-level audiences and conducting conferences.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills; creative problem-solving and process improvement abilities.
  • Leadership ability to guide a team of auditors during projects or specialized audits. Proficient in internet, email, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to work remotely and travel as needed; position does not typically report to a specific UL office.

Candidate must be located near an airport due to high travel demands.

What We Offer
  • Total Rewards: Salary range $80,000 to $102,000, based on experience and location, with potential annual bonus of 10%. Benefits include health insurance, wellness programs, retirement plans, paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick leave).
