Job summary

The Insurance Department of the State of Georgia is seeking a Life & Health Complaints Analyst I to review compliance with applicable laws and determine eligibility for complaints under general supervision.

You will obtain information from policyholders and claimants, analyze policies for coverage and exclusions, and draft responses while supporting reports and investigations. The role involves research and coordination with departmental staff to resolve inquiries.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years of job-related experience; or one year of experience required at the lower level Complnc Business Analyst 1 (RCP030) or position equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Review compliance with applicable laws to determine eligibility for complaints.
• Interview policyholders and claimants to obtain information on claims rejected for payment by insurers.
• Evaluate insurance trade practices and contracts to determine basis for action on complaints.
• Analyze policies to determine coverage, exclusions, and conditions affecting payment of claims.
• Draft concise responses to complex inquiries.
• Conduct research to compile information needed to generate reports, complete projects, and respond to questions and concerns.
