Job summary

Center Parc Credit Union in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Consumer Lending Representative to work with members on auto loans, personal loans, lines of credit and other consumer lending products. You will assess needs, discuss options, and guide members through the credit union processes.

This full-time, non-exempt role reports to the Consumer Lending Sales Manager. The compensation includes a base and commission structure for SR Consumer Lending Rep, with starting pay ranging from $51,250 to $64,064,

Qualifications

Reports To: Consumer Loan Sales Manager

In order to hire the most qualified talent, we reserve the right to hire at the Consumer Lending Rep level or at the SR Consumer Lending Rep level. The SR Consumer Lending Rep has a base + commission structure ($48,000 + uncapped commission). The Consumer Lending Rep has base pay only (Target starting pay range: Minimum point: $51,250 to Mid-Point: $64,064).

The Consumer Lending Representative is responsible for ensuring that the credit union maximizes lending and sales opportunities with members who complete an application for credit for a secured or unsecured retail loan with the credit union.

• Consults with member applicants on a variety of consumer and personal lending needs of nominal to moderate complexity.
• Actively follows up on loan applications originating through various channels of submission (phone, internet, in-branch interactions).
• Effectively builds trust and rapport with member applicants, as well as internal stakeholders who may refer member applicants, through consistent conveyance of the credit union’s core values and strong propensity to assist members in achieving their financial goals.
• Fosters a spirit of cooperation and collaboration with department members to ensure success of the entire lending team and is consistently aware of individual and departmental objectives.
• Reviews applications for completeness and follows established internal controls for processing and underwriting.
• Maintains up to date knowledge of the products and services offered by the credit union.
• Uses strong interpersonal skills, product knowledge, and engaging communication skills to understand member financial needs and financial goals; actively presents ancillary products and services that meet members’ needs and enhances their ability to meet their financial goals.
• Is fully familiar with and able to clearly communicate with internal and external members about: Underwriting philosophies, lending decisions (approved, denied, or conditioned), approval stipulations, loan products and services, credit bureau reports and scores, credit histories, applicable Federal regulations, Warranty coverage, Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP), Debt Protection, loan and deposit rates, lending policies and procedures and our automated underwriting process.
• Educates member on the terms and conditions of their loan decision and ensures a clear understanding of the ancillary products the member may have selected.
• Sets up loan closing and follows established processes, procedures, protocols, and disclosure requirements to facilitate closing of the member’s loan.
• Maintains positive and productive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills in all work activities.
• Demonstrates effective time management and prioritizes daily work to meet deadlines and goals; monitors work in process and adjusts as needed.
• Attend ongoing training as needed, including on and off-site workshops and webinars to maintain a high level of knowledge related to needs-based selling, lending, and compliance with various credit laws, regulations, and acts.
• Adheres to the provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Military Lending Act (MLA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), and other state and federal regulations associated with the granting of credit to consumers,
• Complies with all aspects of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations as they relate to this position.
• The ability to travel overnight or to other business locations less than 5%.

REQUIRED Education and/or Experience

• Requires a level of knowledge normally gained with a high school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a sales environment
• A high level of knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

PREFFERED Education and/or Experience

• 2 years specific consumer lending experience
• Prior experience and working knowledge of digital credit applications software
• Prior experience and working knowledge of credit underwriting processes and philosophies

Physical Job Requirements

Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines such as calculator, computer, printer, facsimile, telephone, copier, etc. Must be able to stand, bend and stoop as needed. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of 5 to 20 pounds.
