KIK Consumer Products in Salem, VA is seeking a packaging operator on 2nd shift to run fillers, case packers, cappers, and related equipment. You will own start-up/shutdown, manage speeds and controls, and troubleshoot to prevent disruptions.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of manufacturing experience. Overtime and weekend work may be required to meet business needs.

Responsabilidades

• Produce quality product at target line rates while upholding safety and GMP standards.
• Catch and correct jams, spills, and other variances using approved procedures to minimize downtime and waste.
• Conduct routine verifications: codes, labels, fill levels, torque, packaging integrity, and appearance; elevate any nonconformance to Quality or supervision.
• Maintain accurate and timely timekeeping, production, and downtime records.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance; communicate performance changes, safety concerns, and maintenance needs, including initiating alerts for equipment issues.

Mission of the Role

Ensure safe, efficient, and consistent output on a high-speed packaging line by operating fillers, case packers, cappers, case sealers, palletizers, and labelers. You will own start-up and shutdown, manage speeds and variable controls, and proactively troubleshoot to prevent disruptions.

Schedule and Compensation

2nd Shift: 4:00pm - 2:30am, Monday-Thursday, with weekends as business needs require. Base rate is $18.54/hour plus a $1.00 shift differential for 2nd shift work.

Physical Capabilities

• Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 60 lbs during the shift.
• Stand and walk for long periods; frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and arm extension while operating equipment and handling materials.
• Sit, kneel, and crouch to reach lower equipment areas and packaging materials.
• Operate in temperature-controlled and non-temperature-controlled, high-noise environments while wearing required PPE (hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, etc.).
• Ability to visually inspect products, labels, and controls and to hear alarms and equipment signals, with or without reasonable accommodation.
