Job summary

Illinois Farm Bureau offers a Consumer Engagement Intern role within the Illinois Center for Agricultural Engagement. You will research content for consumer conversations, help plan events for County Farm Bureaus and Collegiate Farm Bureaus, and participate in Illinois engagement events.

You’ll learn about career opportunities, network internally, and gain hands-on experience in agriculture outreach, communications, and program support during a structured summer internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in agricultural communications, or a related field.
• Must be able to work full-time hours from late May 2027 to early August 2027; extension possible.
• Graduation date August 2027 or beyond.
• Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Canva preferred.
• Familiar with social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok preferred.
• Knowledge of AP style preferred.
• Understanding of Illinois agriculture and modern farming practices.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Organized, self-motivated, and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop content for consumer-facing materials and resources for consumer conversations on agricultural topics
• Brainstorm and develop framework for consumer engagement events for County Farm Bureaus and Collegiate Farm Bureau chapters
• Attend various consumer engagement events throughout Illinois
• Assist with Illinois Farm Families projects as needed
• Support Illinois Center for Agricultural Engagement programs as needed
