Consumer Banking Core/Payments/Technology Operation - IT Manager

Overview

This is a remote role that may be hired in North Carolina or Arizona. Other markets may be considered. This position is part of the First Citizens Bank Direct Bank Technology organization. The IT Manager allocates technical resources and manages an associate team to ensure effective delivery of service and project results. Oversees the design, implementation, support, and overall health of systems and applications. Partners with peers, senior management, business units, and associate teams to align projects or tasks with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

1. Partner with IT leaders on strategy development and execution.
2. Manage operational components, including contracts, vendor relationships, and invoices.
3. Oversee vulnerability management, security scans, and penetration tests.
4. Collaborate with PMO on budget and project lifecycle.
5. Maintain knowledge of Direct Bank IT applications and integrations.
6. Support reporting for PMO, IT leadership, and business project offices.
7. Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, architecture updates, and SDLC.
8. Address risk and audit tasks with IT and business partners.
9. Manage Engineering/QA team resources.
10. Coordinate with Scrum Management, vendors, and IT leadership to ensure delivery.
11. Develop application roadmaps and update tech stacks.
12. Ensure governance, code quality, SDLC adherence, and change management.
13. Partner with production support on incident management.
14. Manage application lifecycle for origination business applications in ServiceNow.
15. Oversee work allocations for staff and contractors.
16. Provide project and product management, including task assignment and performance tracking.
17. Establish expectations, manage policies, and oversee staff performance and development.
18. Support budgeting, forecasting, and invoicing.
19. Support business activities like programming, analysis, testing, and system modifications.
20. Serve as a technical expert and strategic leader, ensuring compliance with standards and security.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in applications development, analysis, or systems engineering OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in the same fields.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional experience and knowledge in digital banking, core banking systems, payment platforms, security standards, database management, application architecture, cloud, SDLC, and related tools.
• Excellent communication skills.
