Consumer Banker will work with existing FFB clients and prospect for new FFB clients to deepen client relationships by both booking business directly and by referring, as appropriate, to internal business partners such as Mortgage, Wealth, Small Business Banker, Commercial, and Treasury Management.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  1. Perform functions necessary to open accounts and perform maintenance.
  2. Manage a Teller drawer as deemed necessary by management.
  3. Support client engagement through active calling, conversations, and follow-up.
  4. Align daily activities with The First Financial Bank Experience (FFB Experience), including:
  5. Partner with internal teams to bring expertise to clients, whether for service or solutions.
  6. Ensure timely follow-up calls with clients.
  7. Maintain operational and risk management standards.
  8. Assist clients in transacting business via branch, drive-thru, phone, and email.
  9. Model behaviors aligned with First Financials Mission and Values.
  10. Adhere to all compliance and regulatory procedures.
  11. Collaborate with District Specialists to execute retail strategies, attract, retain, and grow client relationships, and provide excellent client experience.
  12. Function as a trusted advisor by adding value and building deep relationships using the First Client Conversation Model.
  13. Participate actively in site huddles and meetings to support sales and service activities.
  14. Meet or exceed sales, service, and referral goals through collaboration.
  15. Provide digital support for clients using online banking services.
  16. Stay informed on all bank products, processes, and procedures, especially complex ones.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. 3-4 years client service experience in a retail environment.
  2. 3-4 years sales and service experience with success in achieving goals.
  3. High school diploma or GED required.
  4. May obtain notary authorization.
  5. Strong bank product knowledge and sales skills.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience in sales.

Level of Complexity and Scope

  • Serve a variety of client needs per bank policies.
  • Lead teams as needed.

Decision-Making and Independence

  • Work with limited supervision.
  • Follow established guidelines, applying them proficiently.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and use expertise to advise others.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Support management needs for the FCM.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently lift/carry up to 10 lbs.
  • Frequently sit, stand, walk, and drive.
