First Financial Bank is seeking an Learning & Development Specialist to assist with preparing and facilitating training courses for retail associates. You will develop SME-level expertise in learning areas and support class logistics, ensuring engaging and effective delivery.

The role emphasizes collaboration across the team, coaching, and the design of impactful training materials while staying compliant with banking guidelines.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years’ experience in retail banking or training/facilitator field.
  • Ability to facilitate and present in group settings.
  • Strong computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong understanding of Adult Learning.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and facilitation of associate learning courses in the classroom, certification hubs, and individually as needed.
  • Develop subject matter expertise (SME) in one or more learning areas.
  • Assist with class logistics: start time, end time, breaks, lunch, pre- and post-class hours.
  • Support fellow specialists and retail associates.
  • Coach and provide feedback on sales, service, and operational soundness.
  • Deliver learning that engages, motivates participation, and ensures understanding of topics.
  • Collaborate with team to improve learning programs and presentations, including tech adjustments and materials.
  • Partner with Instructional Designers to develop material supporting company roles and procedures.
  • Gather information from SMEs to develop content for training and development.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation and facilitation of associate learning courses in the classroom, certification hubs, and individually as needed.
  • Work to develop subject matter expertise (SME) in one or more learning area(s).
  • Assist other specialists with class logistics: start time, end time, breaks, lunch, additional pre- and post-class hours.
  • Act as support to other team members and retail associates.
  • Ability to coach and provide feedback to associates regarding sales, service, and operational soundness.
  • Effectively assist with the delivery of learning that encourages engagement, participation, and understanding of related subject matter.
  • Work directly with the rest of the team to improve learning programs and presentations, including modifications to technology, materials, delivery methods, job aids, tools, etc.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency of content and quality of learning.
  • Assist with the design, delivery, and review of course evaluations adjusting materials and/or delivery methods as needed for effectiveness.
  • Partner with Instructional Designers to design and develop material that support company roles, procedures, and products as assigned.
  • Gather information from subject matter experts to develop content for training and development.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage numerous tasks occurring simultaneously and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage rosters and orders class materials as needed.
  • May also support the integration of acquisitions through the design and delivery of conversion training.
  • Proficient knowledge of banking industry regulatory guidelines, risk, and compliance with the ability to make sounds judgement decisions as it pertains to banking guidelines and policy/procedures.
  • Participate in ad-hoc training due to new products and services, policy and/or procedure changes, or regulatory changes.
  • Partner with consumer bank to develop best practices and innovative ways to change and improve upon processes with the goal of minimizing risk, improving efficiencies, and improving client experience.
  • Perform duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job
  • 1-3 years’ experience in retail banking or training/facilitator field
  • Ability to facilitate and present in group settings
  • Strong computer software skills to include MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong understanding of Adult Learning
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal/written skills
  • Time management
  • Ability to quickly master new content for delivery
  • Ability to learn and utilize new software at a high level
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
  • Prior banking experience preferable
  • Teller and Platform system knowledge and experience preferable
  • Prior experience with rapid course authoring tools preferred
  • Prior retail sales and service experience preferable

Pay Range $19.47- $23.56/hour
