The role you’ll contribute:

Ensures patients are appropriately financially cleared for all appointments. Performs eligibility verification, obtains pre-cert and/or authorizations, clears registration errors, and edits pre-bill. Maintains close communication with clinical partners to ensure smooth coordination between clinical, ancillary, and patient access departments. Provides exemplary service to internal and external customers and fosters respectful relationships.

• Proactively contacts insurance companies to verify insurance eligibility and benefits before and after scheduled appointments.
• Obtains pre-authorizations from third-party payers within required timeframes, accurately entering authorization details into AdventHealth systems.
• Resolves issues with pre-authorizations through close collaboration with clinical partners and physician offices.
• Verifies patient identity to prevent duplication of medical records.
• Assigns appropriate payor plans to patient accounts.
• Ensures all financial assessments, eligibility, and benefits are current and accurate to support post-care financial needs.
• Documents all interactions with patients and insurance representatives thoroughly.
• Coordinates with case management staff when pre-authorization cannot be obtained for inpatient stays.
• Adheres to HIPAA regulations when verifying caller authorization levels.
• Creates estimates to maximize up-front collections and documents collections as needed.
• Calculates patient co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance, providing personalized financial responsibility estimates prior to service.
