Job summary

ACRT, Inc. is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester to identify, inspect, and evaluate trees along utility lines and to submit inspection results with recommendations. This role is suitable for both entry level and seasoned professionals with forestry-related education.

The incumbent will coordinate with clients, line-clearance crews, and stakeholders, working in varied weather and terrains. Strong communication, GIS, and computer skills are essential, along with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 2 or 4 year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science or closely related field OR in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma plus 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or related field.
• Strong tree ID skills required.
• ISA Arborist and applicators license preferred.
• Ability to work independently in all weather conditions.
• Experience in utility vegetation management is a plus.
• Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware preferred.
• Self-motivated, organized, production-oriented.
• Able to manage a geographical area and work with stakeholders and crews.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Multi-tasking and strong time management skills.
• Valid driver's license required.

ACRT is currently seeking energetic experienced professionals who enjoy working outdoors. Our Consulting Utility Forester position is ideal for entry level and seasoned professionals with an educational background in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, environmental studies, conservation or related disciplines and with experience in these fields and line of work.

Our Foresters perform identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines; Submit inspection results to clients with recommendations; Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues; Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers.

Minimum Requirements:

• 2 or 4 year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science or closely related field OR in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma plus 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or other related field (Ex. general Right-of-Way management, Integrated Vegetation Management, nursery work or timber cutting, etc.) High school diploma / GED requirement can be waived for 5 years of UVM or related experience.
• Strong tree ID skills required
• ISA Arborist and applicators license preferred
• Ability to work independently in all weather conditions
• Experience in utility vegetation management experience a plus
• Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules (available nights and weekends as needed)
