Job summary

Davey Resource Group, Inc. is seeking a field-oriented vegetation planning specialist to support Southern Indiana projects. You will contribute to planning, data collection, and coordination with project teams to ensure safe, compliant vegetation management for utility corridors.

The role requires outdoor work, GIS data interpretation, and willingness to travel. A relevant certification and Indiana licensing are preferred, with company vehicle for commuting and strong safety focus.

Qualifications

• Related field experience.
• ISA Certified, or certification within 6 months.
• Registered Technician with Indiana or hold a commercial applicator license.
• Ability to work safely.
• Love of the outdoors and ability to hike in rugged terrain.
• Ability to read GIS data and maps; read and follow GIS data.
• Leadership experience and potential for growth.
• Problem solving, meeting deadlines, and technical innovation.
• Ability to handle conflict effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel across the utility service area.
• Valid Driver's License with clean DMV record and ability to drive 4x4.
• Knowledge of local tree species and growth rates.

Responsibilities

Job Duties

• Successfully contribute to all aspects of vegetation management planning and analysis.

• Utilize innovative technology and practices to help major electric utility providers deliver safe and reliable power and maintain national security.

• Perform property owner research and landowner notifications.

• Inspect and assess vegetation in right of ways for compliance standards and construction work plans.

• Identify tree and brush control work and protection zone recommendations.

• Attend meetings and trainings as requested.

• Collect data and document work using hand-held computers; assess terrain, habitat, and environmental conditions, & support UVM projects.

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Planners, and Vegetation Crews to create customized solutions.
