What you’ll do:
  • Contribute to vegetation management planning and analysis.
  • Use innovative technology to help electric utility providers deliver safe, reliable power, and maintain national security.
  • Inspect and assess vegetation in right-of-ways for compliance and construction plans.
  • Identify tree and brush control work and protection zone recommendations.
  • Collect data using hand-held computers, assess terrain and environmental conditions, and support IVM projects.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Planners, and Vegetation Crews for customized solutions.
What you’ll need:
  • Love for the outdoors and ability to work in rugged terrain and weather.
  • Ability to read GIS data and maps; work independently.
  • Leadership experience and desire for career growth.
  • Problem-solving skills, meeting deadlines, and technical innovation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel within the utility service area.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean DMV record and ability to operate a 4x4 vehicle.
  • Ability to identify local tree species and growth rates.
  • Organizational skills and working knowledge of computers and software.
  • Preferred: Degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, or related field.
  • Preferred: Pesticide/herbicide licenses, ISA certifications, RPF, or utility vegetation experience.
