Job description

Position Overview

Pay Range: $20-$30/HR - Based on experience and certifications.

What you’ll do:
  • Contribute to vegetation management planning and analysis.
  • Use innovative technology to support electric utility providers in delivering safe, reliable power.
  • Inspect vegetation in right-of-ways for compliance and work plans.
  • Recommend tree and brush control and protection zones.
  • Collect data using hand-held computers; assess terrain and environmental conditions; support IVM projects.
  • Coordinate with project teams to develop solutions.
What you’ll need:
  • Enjoy outdoor work and hiking in rugged terrain and weather.
  • Ability to read GIS data and work independently.
  • Leadership qualities and a desire for career growth.
  • Problem-solving, meeting deadlines, and technical skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel within the utility service area.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record; ability to operate 4x4 vehicles.
  • Knowledge of local tree species and growth rates.
  • Organizational skills; computer proficiency.
  • Preferred: Degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, or related field.
  • Preferred: Pesticide/herbicide licenses, ISA certifications, RPF, utility vegetation experience.
