Job Description:

We have an immediate opening for a team-oriented, highly effective, and self-motivated individual to join the WAN technical solution Architecture (TSA) team. Technical solution architects partner with sales engineers, account managers, PLM and engineering to drive technical sales activities, focusing on opportunities involving new products and emerging technologies. They bring in-depth hands-on expertise with products and solutions as well as other technologies that complement networking vision, and act as trusted advisors educating customers on evolving networking trends and how our products and solutions can help achieve business goals.

For this role, we’re seeking an exceptional technical leader and evangelist to support customer engagements around WAN architecture and solutions. You will build and maintain close relationships with customers to become a trusted advisor from initial engagement to successful closing.

This is an advanced career-stage technical leadership role requiring in-depth WAN architecture and routing knowledge, broad understanding across switching, routing, security, and automation, and the ability to position complex multi-technology solutions.

What we will challenge you to achieve:
  • Drive technical consulting activities in new and existing WAN opportunities, acting as a trusted adviser to the account team and customer, covering routing, automation, and cross-segment solutions with other domain architects.
  • Build and maintain close relationships with sales engineering and account management teams that support our customer base, GTM channel partners, and collaborate with Product Line Management and Engineering.
  • Support sales engineering teams by understanding customer requirements, guiding solution design, delivering technical deep-dives and demonstrations, contributing to PoC tests, presenting/training at seminars, and assisting with tender responses.
  • Become a go-to person and trusted advisor for the sales engineering community, including product portfolio and automation solutions as well as broader industry trends and competitive solutions.
  • Speak at internal and external conferences and technology days, such as Tech Clubs and Innovation Days, and other industry events.
Skills you need to have:
  • Proven track record in a customer-facing pre-sales role selling networking equipment or related design/architecture/vendor selection.
  • Hands-on skills and the ability to support complex PoC tests with new products and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work in virtual, multi-national teams with little supervision and multiple stakeholders.
  • Credible technical interaction with Enterprise and Service Provider Engineering teams about WAN industry topics at a detailed level.
  • Outstanding communication skills for diverse audiences, from technical staff to executive decision-makers. English verbal and written/presentation skills are mandatory; other major languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to visit customers, partners, and account teams.
Technical knowledge you need to have:
  • Proven track record designing WAN architectures; implementation experience and product knowledge are advantageous.
  • Expert hands-on knowledge of routing protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, Multicast), Layer-2/3 VPNs, BNG, Carrier Ethernet, and tunneling technologies (MPLS, RSVP, SR-TE, SRv6).
  • Strong knowledge of network management, service provisioning, automation, monitoring, and telemetry interfaces (Netconf/Rest APIs, YANG, OpenConfig, gRPC). Familiarity with management solutions (Paragon, MIST, Apstra or equivalents) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Containers and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and Linux.
  • Automation and programming skills (e.g., Python, Ansible).
Ideal candidates
  • Will be based in Dallas, TX or New Jersey.

Travel: Typically 20%–30% of working time is spent traveling.
